This is your chance to dream. What should your ideal system do? Examples:
- Stream to YouTube & Facebook
- Record the sermon
- Send audio to local radio station
- Post the sermon online
- Edit video clips
- Archive the service
- Make a DVD for homebound members
- Add graphics to the live stream
- Send the camera feeds to other parts of the church building
- Control cameras remotely
- Adjust audio levels from a tablet or phone
- Put the video on a screen at the front of church
- Use motion graphics or power point during sermon
- Add closed captioning
- Have everything run itself
- Have cameras automatically follow the pastor
There really is no limit, technologically, to what is possible for your live stream. Use this chance to explore "what if" scenarios. Dream big. Ask questions. Brainstorm. Make lists. Get every possible idea out on the table. Start by thinking of all the different things you might want to do. It's vastly easier to scale back than to add something new as we get further down the line.
In later steps we will start to narrow down some of these options or make decisions that will make certain functionality more difficult. I believe that if you start by thinking about your ideal, it makes the later steps easier, because you have had time to think through what parts of the system are really important to you.
Once you have hashed out your dream list, it is time for step three.
